Why he should go.......

Hi again,
This is to vent my frustration after my weekend was runied by the idiotic Indian celebrity, Abhishek Bachhan ( I dont care if I have spelled his name wrongly ). I ended up watching his newly released movie Delhi 6. I initially had a feeling that this time too he is going to goof up as he always does, and he lived upto my expectations. Some of my friends however found Delhi 6 to be a charming movie...but I haven't spoken to those friends after I came back this weekend.

I know some of you would argue that this guy did manage to put up good performances a couple of times...but hey, hold on, didn't he have infinite number of opportunities to do that?..and did he carry any project on his own shoulders when a 'grade A' director was not around?? take for example, Mani Ratnam's GURU and Yuva and RGV' s Sarkar more recently. I mean these directors are good on their own, so Abhishek could not be given the credit solely for the success of these films. However, I won't deny that on some occassions he does act well..although these occassions are quite a set of Rara Avis.

I would rather say he can be a good supporting actor, as he proved himself on the behalf of my assertion in Dhoom and Dhoom 2. His demeanour does not change when he is playing a superhero ( drona ) or an NRI ( Delhi 6 ). He has the same old look as rigid as a furniture and the only time he seemed to have been enjoying his role was in Dostana ( sadly, yes..he did act well in that)..well he shared the screen with John Abraham, who is not a great actor either.

Having said that, I wish him success in future...( although I doubt he would ever show any sign of change )...I really think that media hype around the junior B should be minimized so that he can actually come to terms with something called good acting. Even an imitation of his dad would be sufficient to give him the launch pad so people at least can take him seriously while watching a movie.

In an industry which produces the largest number of films in the world, a person with at least 50 failed attempts with every possible type of direcor ( except the few as mentioned above, where he succeeded) is really not worthwhile. Just because he has a media back up does not make him more acceptable, even if he is to his legendary dad and celebrity wife,

It's time for him to realize, that every bit of glory should be well earned..or one should make way for those who deserve better and have a lot more potential.

  2. Dude, there is something called COMEBACK and MATURITY...and these two entities are pretty important in the industry.I remember clearly that Hrithik was described as a 'Shooting Star' after he gave flops like MPKDH and Yaadein..!! Nothing similar has ever been written about Abhishek....My point is media is more to blame than Abhishek..How would he ever know what it takes to be a star?..because nobody makes him realize that he has so much to catch up with...!!!
